PoPuP (hereinafter referred to as "the App") is a population pyramid creation tool provided by Tsuji Laboratory at Future University Hakodate (hereinafter referred to as "the Laboratory"). The App is designed for use in elementary and junior high school educational settings.

This Privacy Policy explains the information collected and used by the App.

2. Information We Collect

Specifically, the App does not collect:

• Personal information such as name, address, phone number, or email address
• Location information
• Device identifiers (IDFA, UDID, etc.)
• Browsing history or usage data
• Any other information that could identify individuals

3. Data Usage and Processing

The App processes all data locally on your device. Specifically:

• Population statistical data is bundled within the App and does not require access to external servers
• Information such as selected municipalities and display settings is stored only on your device
• No data is transmitted to external servers

4. Third-Party Disclosure

Since the App does not collect any personal information, no information is shared with third parties.

5. Photo Library Access

The App requests write-only permission to the Photo Library to save population pyramid images.

• Access Permission: Write-only (adding photos only)
• Purpose: To save PNG images of population pyramids created by users
• Storage Location: iOS standard Photo Library
• Other Usage: The App does not read or view existing photos in the Photo Library

6. Offline Data

The population statistical data bundled with the App is based on publicly available data from the Statistics Bureau of Japan's e-Stat portal.

• Data Source: 2020 National Census of Japan
• Provider: Statistics Bureau of Japan (e-Stat)
• License: Government statistical data is used in accordance with the Government of Japan Standard Terms of Use

7. Map Functionality

The App provides functionality to launch the Apple Maps app to view municipality locations.

• Operation: Only passes municipality names to the Apple Maps app
• Location Information: The App itself does not acquire location information
• Privacy: Information handling within the Apple Maps app is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy

8. Children's Privacy

The App can be used by people of all ages, including children under 13. Since the App does not collect any personal information, children's privacy is also protected.

9. Changes to Privacy Policy

The Laboratory may update this Privacy Policy as needed. Any changes to the Privacy Policy will take effect when posted on this page.
